Therapy Group for In(fertility)

A Mind-Body Approach

The journey to build a family can be lonely, scary and isolating when things aren’t going as you’d anticipated.  Maybe you've lost touch with some of your friends or they just don't understand what you're going through. Even family, while well-meaning, often don't get it. The anxiety and stress of struggling to conceive, or maintain a pregnancy can feel overwhelming and the challenges of day to day life can make this time even more difficult. Perhaps you're not sure what your next step is and how to navigate this stage of your life- this stage you never imagined having to go through in the first place. You don't have to wrestle with all of this on your own! Please join us.

This 6-week group is for those struggling with:

  • Anxiety, stress and/or overwhelm

  • Feelings of isolation, loneliness or depression

  • Relationship strains with your partner or other important people in your life

Benefits of a therapy group for infertility include:

  • Support from other people who get it

  • Learning mind-body practices that reduce stress

  • Developing and practicing new coping strategies

  • Reduced feelings of isolation

Join me, Rachel Rabinor, psychotherapist and Licensed Clinical Social Worker for this 6-week therapy group. Share as much or as little as you like. Listen to others. Feel the power of community. Reach out for support during this challenging time in your life and know you are not alone!

What can I expect from the group?

Groups meet once a week for 6 sessions*. Each session is 90 minutes. Throughout the six weeks we'll explore issues related to fertility challenges, including the impact on identity, self-esteem, sexuality and relationships. You'll have the opportunity to learn and practice relaxation and other mind-body coping skills each week. While we can't change the stressors you experience each day, we can help you learn to manage your response to allow you to live more comfortably and engage with life more fully.

* Initial group is 6-weeks with option to continue.
