What would you do if you had the courage to really get vulnerable and take risks in your personal and professional life?

We’re all called to live a life that truly matters to us. But often, our fear of setbacks, uncertainty or failure prevents us from taking the risks that would lead to our bravest and most beautiful life (Daring Greatly™).  And when we are brave enough often enough, there will absolutely be moments when we fall. And in rising, we learn to live with even greater courage and compassion (Rising Strong™).

The Daring Way™ are educational small group programs based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown. In these programs we explore topics such as vulnerability, courage, authenticity, shame, and worthiness.

Through exercises and discussion we examine the thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that are holding us back, and we identify the new choices and practices that will move us toward more authentic and wholehearted living.  The primary focus is on developing tools for greater emotional resilience and daily practices that transform the way we live, love, parent, and lead.

Group participants self-select which area of their life that they would like to work with as a paradigm for learning while participating in the group. Using metaphors, story telling, videos, hands-on exercises, and group discussions—we’ll examine the thoughts, emotions, and behaviors holding you back. We’ll identify fresh choices you can make and new practices you can set in motion in your daily life that will help you move toward more authentic and wholehearted living.

Daring Greatly™ and Rising Strong™

There are two different curriculums under the umbrella of The Daring Way™: Daring Greatly™ and the second Rising Strong™. Each program stands on its own and either one can be completed first. Groups are kept to 7 participants or fewer and meet either in weekly format – 2 hours each week over the course of 8 weeks – or as 2.5-day weekend workshops. Both formats allow you to develop trust and rapport within the group, creating a safe space to practice vulnerability.

Each section includes new concepts, tools and interactive exercises to bring the content alive and allow you to move beyond just understanding the material to applying Brené’s research to how you live and connect with others. To add to the live group process, Brené makes one or more visits in each section through exclusive video clips – in these she illustrates key concepts through stories from her research and her own life experience.

The Benefits of The Daring Way™

The Rising Strong™ practices teach us that struggle can be our greatest call to courage and the clearest path to a wholehearted life! This experience will support you in transforming how you tell your stories of struggle – most importantly, the stories you tell yourself. You will learn a proven process for overcoming the moments when we are overwhelmed by everyday frustrations and/or consequential life events; instead you will be ready to get back up, choose and practice strategies for resilience in cultivating the life we want. Rising Strong™ groups offer participants the opportunity to:

  • Identify and clarify the values that are most important to us.

  • Recognize that we get hooked by our emotions and begin to get curious about those emotions.

  • Identify ways in which we offload hurt and create barriers.

  • Practice and personalize the experience of storytelling as an important part of meaning-making.

  • Explore self-awareness around vulnerability, shame, living big, trust and braving, grief and forgiveness, anxiety, and criticism.

  • Empower ourselves to write new endings to our stories through identifying key learnings that we come to through this process.

  • Identify ways we can apply our new insights in the many areas of our lives, including home, workplaces and community.

Daring Greatly™, designed by Dr. Brené Brown, based on her research on courage, worthiness, vulnerability, and shame. The exercises are simple but the outcome can be transformational. Being your truest self involves risk, risk requires vulnerability, vulnerability creates connection, and authentic connection leads to real and lasting courage. The Daring Greatly™ process teaches you how to keep showing up for yourself and others – each and every day, in big and small ways. Daring Greatly™ groups offer participants the opportunity to:

  • Break free from old habits and patterns and live your life more authentically.

  • Learn how to practice and experience vulnerability as courage.

  • Develop a healthy resilience to shame.

  • Cultivate your ability to connect with and foster empathy for yourself and others.

  • Disentangle yourself from perfectionism and the fear of what others think.

  • Create healthier boundaries.

  • Foster self-compassion and gratitude.

  • Identify the thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that hold you back.

  • Embrace your story as uniquely yours and as a source of strength.

  • Understand that you are enough just as you are!
